The sky and the earth are in constant flux, generating countless variations through their combinations. This work reconstructs the process of a shaman entering a state of possession as a visual system, by layering and intersecting different states of the sky and the earth.
The sequence begins with a limited palette and a simple, rigid structure. Two solid and separated layers exist in parallel without interaction. As time progresses, the number of colors gradually increases, and the flat divisions dissolve into gradient transitions. This shift is not merely aesthetic, but marks the formation of a relationship between the two domains. As the ritual unfolds, the distance between the sky and the earth steadily narrows.
The once independent layers begin to respond to one another, eventually reaching a threshold. At the moment they meet, the separated structures collapse and converge into a single flow. In this work, possession is not a singular event, but a process in which distinct systems collide, synchronize, and transform into a unified state.
하늘과 땅은 끊임없이 변화하며, 그 조합 또한 무수히 달라집니다. 이 작업은 서로 다른 하늘과 땅의 상태들을 교차시키며, 무당이 접신에 이르는 과정을 하나의 시각적 시스템으로 재구성합니다.
초반의 화면은 제한된 색과 단순한 구조로 시작됩니다. 단단하고 분리된 두 층은 서로 간섭하지 않은 채 병렬로 존재합니다. 시간이 흐르며 색의 수가 점차 증가하고, 단색의 구획은 서서히 풀리며 그래디언트로 확장됩니다. 이 변화는 단순한 미학적 전환이 아니라, 두 영역 사이의 관계가 형성되는 과정입니다.
의식이 진행될수록 하늘과 땅 사이의 간격은 점점 좁혀집니다. 서로 독립적이던 두 층은 미세한 반응을 시작하고, 결국 하나의 임계점에 도달합니다. 두 영역이 맞닿는 순간, 분리되어 있던 구조는 붕괴되고 하나의 흐름으로 수렴합니다. 이 작업에서 접신은 특정한 사건이 아니라, 서로 다른 체계가 충돌하고 동기화되며 하나의 상태로 전환되는 과정 그 자체를 의미합니다.
